Situated on the Hadrian’s Wall Path, my latest planning approval for a loft conversion and a contemporary side extension to an existing bungalow will provide some stunning views over Cumbria, to the Lake District hills, and beyond.

My client’s brief understandably focused on getting the most out of the existing property to maximise the lovely views by going up into the existing roof space to create a master bedroom with en-suite. The proposed dormer with full height sliding and folding doors will provide a fantastic picture frame for the natural artwork that nature will continually provide, and the existing king post trusses will be left exposed, bringing a traditional feature to both sides of the room.

The property lacked a decent kitchen and dining area and this has been addressed by the contemporary side extension which will house the large kitchen and dining area. Again the full height folding and sliding doors overlooking the proposed decked area and Hadrian’s Wall Path will maximise the views.
